Avoid costs and litigation
Working with other people can sometimes result in conflicts. Many conflicts can be resolved by a simple conversation, or with a bit of input from another team member or a manager – but some conflicts can be harder to resolve.
When it has proven difficult to resolve a workplace conflict through internal means, it can be useful to bring in a Mediator from outside to help resolve the dispute – it is easier for them to be seen as neutral, and often they will have a new perspective on the issue.
When to Mediate a Dispute?
Conflicts that have gone on for a long time can become entrenched. The longer disputes remain unresolved, the more they will cost the organisation and the harder they are to resolve.
The best time to resolve a dispute is at the beginning.
Neurodiversity
Some workplace conflicts can arise out of the staff team being neurodiverse. See Neurodiversity and Mediation for more information.
